Non invasive surgical options
Many vascular pathologies can be treated without formal surgery, using specially designed balloon (angioplasty) or scaffolding (stents) to improve blood flow.
Tests (angiography) give me a good idea of where the blockage is, if it is treatable with non invasive (not in theatre) methods or if more extensive surgery is required to restore blood flow to the affected extremity (leg or arm).

In room tests
Many non invasive tests can be performed in the rooms. These include an arterial doppler assessment for peripheral vascular disease and diabetic foot problems
Venous duplex doppler for venous stasis ulcers and complex varicose vein problems.
Vascular ultrasound screening for carotid artery stenosis, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (these can be life threatening if not treated)
TPCO2 tests are also conducted for chronic wounds to determine the oxygen levels in the tissue of the affected limb (leg or arm).
Vascular Surgical Options
Surgical treatment for stroke or high-risk clients (carotid endarectormy).
Vascular access for renal dialysis patients for treatment with haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
Venous ablation or venous stripping for varicose veins.
Arterial bypass surgery for patients for Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD).
Repairs to the arteries or veins which occurred from trauma related injuries.
Abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery to repair aortic dissections which can be life-threatening.
